Chase is back at it again! Over the summer we saw a handful of promotions targeted at giving their customers opportunities to earn more on everyday spend. Given that the Chase Freedom Flex and Unlimited cards are both offering competitive bonus categories, we have speculated that the Sapphire Cards are due for some enhancements.

Chase Sapphire Limited-Time Grocery Bonus

Starting on November 1st 2020 and running through April 30 2021 the Chase Sapphire Cards will both earn bonus points on grocery purchases. Depending on which Chase Sapphire card you have, the bonus will either be 2X or 3X.

Chase Sapphire Reserve $300 Travel (and more) Credit Extension

The Chase Sapphire Reserve typically comes with a $300 Travel Credit which is automatically reimbursed when using the credit card on travel purchases. Due to the current travel limitations, Chase provided customers with the option to use this credit towards Gas and Grocery purchases through the end of 2020. Today Chase announced that they would be extending these options for redemption through June 2021.

Basic Breakdown

I like the bonus opportunities for grocery spending since that is where most of my current expenses are. It’s also important to mention that the Chase Pay Yourself (Chase PYB) back extension plays well into this announcement. I like the idea of earning bonus points on groceries and then redeeming them via the Chase PYB for a 50% bonus on my Sapphire Reserve Card!
