Chase offers amazing amounts of flexibility to redeem their Ultimate Rewards points. Lately, we have seen elevated welcome offers to earn Ultimate Rewards points. One of our Favorite Travel Cards is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has consistently been on the top of our best-ranked credit cards list and usually has a pretty lucrative welcome offer. Check out our eleven favorite ways we would use the 100,000 Chase Sapphire Ultimate Rewards Points!

11 Ways to Redeem Chase Sapphire Preferred 100,000 Welcome Offer

1. Redeem your Points for Cash Back!

For the easiest redemption, you can simply cash in a statement credit with your Chase Sapphire Preferred Points at one cent per point. So with your 100,000 points welcome offer, you would get a $1,000 statement credit. As long as you have the points available you can redeem a statement credit for any purchase on your statement. So no matter if you have a large purchase, a vacation, or home improvements, you can get $1,000 off any purchase as a statement credit. Read more about Chase Ultimate Reward Points here.

2. Redeeming your Bonus in the Chase Travelโ„ข portal

Chase Travelโ„ข is the hub for booking travel, including flights, hotels, and car rentals. By booking through Chase Travelโ„ข, you can also get an elevated 1.25 cent redemption rate for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. The ease of using Chase Travelโ„ข is a simple as searching for what you want, and booking directly through the portal. It lists everything from Hotels, Flights to Car Rentals, in one easy-to-use transparent portal. You will see both the cash rate and the points rate for these items. Don’t worry about if you are getting max value for these either, these are directly tied to the cash rate every time.

2. Hotel Transfer Partners

One of the biggest strengths of having Chase Sapphire Preferred is the ability to utilize the many transfer partners in the portfolio. Not only can you book through their portal, but if you wanted to book directly with an airline or hotel, transfer partners enable you to do this. You simply transfer your points to one of 3 hotel transfer partners. These include Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott Bonvoy. Say you want to book a night at a nearby Hyatt property. You check the Chase Travel Portal and the price is 30,000 points. That points value through Hyatt, however, might only be 15,000. You can then transfer the 15,000 points to your World of Hyatt account, thus saving you 15,000 Ultimate Rewards Points.

3. Airline Transfer Partners

Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partner Options

Similar to Hotel Transfer Partners, you can transfer to Airline Partners! Often times you can score some great mileage deals on long-haul flights by transferring to one of Chase’s many Airline transfer partners like Southwest, JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic United to name a few. Our favorite example to date has been when we saved over $41,000 for booking flights to Japan in First Class by utilizing Virgin Atlantic points. You can view a step-by-step breakdown of booking ANA with Virgin Atlantic Points to Japan here.

Another great example is utilizing Southwest Rapid Rewards Points! Hawaii may be expensive to get to with cash, but Southwest always has some amazing deals, especially from the West Coast.

You can transfer your points to the following airlines:

  • Aer Lingus
  • British Airways
  • Emirates
  • Flying Blue (loyalty program of Air France and KLM)
  • Iberia
  • JetBlue
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Southwest
  • United Airlines
  • Virgin Atlantic

Don’t quite need Airline or Hotel credit cards just yet? If you are looking for a Cash Back Credit Card, 0% intro APR or a Balance Transfer Card, we’ve got you covered with our Top Credit Card Offers.

5. Short Haul Flights – Booking With British Airways Avios

One of my favorite ways to score deals is utilizing Avios to book short-distance flights. You can use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to redeem miles for great deals. Avios redemptions use a distance-based award chart and this works especially well in Europe for flights that are 650 miles or less to the destination. These start at about 5,000 miles per segment, giving you around 16 one-way trips in value. Another reason this is such a great value is that when you try to book the same flights with AAdvantage miles they are often way more points. It’s important to analyze each redemption to ensure you receive the maximum value.

6. Car Rentals

Car Rentals through Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal

When traveling to cities or areas with great public transportation, you don’t really think twice about car rentals. Car rentals are a great perk to have when traveling for ease of use in those harder-to-reach destinations. However, they can add some unexpected costs when they are around $40-$50 per day. Luckily, we offer 12 ways you can save money on car rentals, but you can also simply redeem your points in the Chase portal! You still get the 25% back for redeeming points through the travel portal, so an Economy car in Buffalo would only cost me 3,671 points for the day. At this rate, I could rent a car for a month for free.

7. Excursions / Things To Do

Before you take your trip, take a look at the “Things to Do” tab in Chase Travelโ„ข. Whether you are looking for a guided tour, tickets to a museum, or a sightseeing cruise, it’s likely you’ll find a deal on the travel portal. The best part about this is that you won’t have to haggle locally, you can feel confident you booked a great deal ahead of time. Plus, you can find activities you never even knew of! Scavenger hunt in Buffalo, NY, anyone?

8. Use your Chase Sapphire Points to Book Experiences

A unique way to use your bonus is on the exclusive cardmember experiences that Chase offers. These pop up sporadically throughout the year and can be used on anything from Golf, to Culinary Events to exclusive access at sporting events. You can use either your points or cash for these. I might be attending the PGA Championship this year, so if I had Chase Ultimate Rewards Points, I would definitely think about this.

9. Amazon

Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards Points through Amazon

Another easy to use option is linking your card to Amazon. You can conveniently use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points as a way to pay at checkout. The redemption rate is less than the 1 cent per point you would get for redeeming as a statement credit, however, it is another easy option. Maybe your goal for opening the card was to help you get through Christmas. If you know you will be making lots of Amazon purchases throughout the year, this could be a great option. This will not be the best bang for your buck with Ultimate Rewards points, but an option nonetheless.

10. Gift Cards

Chase Ultimate Rewards Gift Card Options

A great way to utilize 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points is with Gift Cards purchases! Options include (but are not limited to) Restaurants, Travel, Entertainment, Electronics, Clothing, Sports, Health & Beauty, or even pet supplies. Points are typically worth 1 cent per point in terms of redemption value. An Amazon gift card, for example, would cost 2,500 points. Occasionally, you can catch a great deal and get gift cards for 10% or more off!. Minimum gift card redemption amounts vary by merchant, but many cards have $15 or $25 minimums. These gift card options can be great if you have a lot of extra points and want to purchase gifts for your family.

11. Pay Yourself Back

Chase unlocked one of the best features with the Pay Yourself Back option. This feature allows you to “pay yourself back” on select purchases. The categories have changed over time, and currently, you can pay yourself back on Air BnB, Away (through awaytravel.com), and select charity purchases. This feature has been extended to March 31, 2022. Simply make your purchases in the allocated categories, and then log into your Chase Travelโ„ข to redeem points for purchases to get a statement credit (1.25 cents per point). You can see the full list here and some ideas about how to redeem in this category.
