I’m really excited to see that Southwest is making some big moves for it’s frequent flyers. Similar to the other airlines, these changes are pretty awesome! Southwest is one of my favorite airlines which is another reason why I’m pumped to see that out Companion Pass will be Extended & More.

Southwest Companion Pass Extension

All current Southwest Companion Pass Holders will have a new end date of June 30th 2021. This is awesome news for many folks whose pass is slated to expire in December.

A-List & A-List Preferred

All current A-List and A-List Preferred Members Status will now be extended through December 31, 2021.

For All Rapid Rewards Members

Southwest is giving all Rapid Rewards Members a “boost” of 15,000 tier qualifying points and 10 flight credits toward A-List and A-List Preferred status, and 25,000 Companion Pass qualifying points and 25 flight credits toward Companion Pass status. This is awesome news for us we were legitimately about 20,000 Qualifying Points away from earning Companion Pass again this year!

Basic Breakdown

I’m very happy with all of the moves made by Southwest today. Hopefully life is back to normal soon so that we can get back to using these fantastic benefits. The only group that I feel for are those folks that just earned the Companion Pass and already have a set expiration date of 2021. Perhaps they will receive an additional extension down the road. What do you think about the recent moves by Southwest?
