JetBlue airlines has finally jumped on the status extension train joining the other major domestic airlines. We have already heard from American, Delta, Southwest, and United over the last few weeks. Despite making us wait, JetBlue’s announcement included an elite status extension and more for it’s frequent flyers!

Status Extension through 2021

JetBlue is extending status of all current TrueBlue Mosaic customers through December 31st 2021. This includes both customers who earned Mosaic through travel or spending on the JetBlue Credit Card.

Opportunity to Gift Mosaic Status

JetBlue is providing current Mosaic Members with the chance to give the gift of Mosaic. The nominated Mosaic will enjoy all travel perks for one year on all of their JetBlue flights. Benefits include no change or cancel fees, first and second bag free, early boarding, a complimentary alcoholic beverage and more. Current Mosaic members have until June 1st 2020 to nominate a friend or family member. The nominated members Mosaic Status will run from June 15th 2020 through June 15th 2021.

Reduced Qualifications for Mosaic in 2020

JetBlue is reducing the qualifying points and segments by 50% to qualify for Mosaic in 2020. For the remainder of 2020, TrueBlue members can qualify for Mosaic by either earning 7,500 Mosaic Qualifying Points or earning a combination of 6,000 Mosaic Qualifying Points and 15 segments. Members who reach Mosaic will still earn a bonus of 15,000 TrueBlue points which was in place prior to this announcement. It’s important to note that JetBlue Credit Card holders can still earn Mosaic by spending $50,000 which also was not lowered.

Basic Breakdown

I’m happy to see JetBlue join the rest of the Airlines in providing their frequent fliers with some loyalty perks. In the post-pandemic world of air travel, I think that all of the airlines will be certainly trying to retain their loyal customers and creating opportunities for new business. The gifting of Mosaic is a perfect example of JetBlue hoping to attract some future customers. I personally do not have Mosaic so if anyone reading this has it and is looking for someone to gift it to, I’m your guy!
