Fidelity Spire announced you can now enter to win $30,000 to pay off your Student Loans! Student loans seem to have an uphill battle with paying them off anytime in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, I was not so money savvy when I was in college 10+ years ago and racked up a lot of student loan debt. I took out loans that I didn’t understand to pay for college. I held jobs all throughout college, but I just thought I was getting “free money” so never really thought otherwise about it.
Fast forward to today, I have thousands of student loan debt. I know I am not the only one. In fact, according to forbes.com, 44 million Americans owe more than $1.56 trillion dollars in student loan debt. That is a lot of debt and I am willing to take any help I can get on paying them down any faster than I can. Whenever I see something pop up in my email or newsfeed about student loans and winning money to pay them off, I am all ears. So lets get into how you can enter, and hopefully win!
$30k Contest
Fidelity Spire recently came out with a promotion where you can enter to win $30,000 to pay off your student loans. I know what you are thinking – but then I have to pay taxes on the winnings! Actually, they will give you an additional $9,000 to use to pay the taxes on the winnings.
Fidelity Spire is going to have 3 drawings held for 3 separate winners. One winner will be in October, one winner in November, and one winner in December.

How to Qualify
Before I get into HOW to enter to win, lets go over the quick guidelines to ensure you are a qualified candidate to enter the contest.
You have outstanding student loan debt
If you meet the above qualification, congratulations. You are ready to enter to win!
Enter to Win
It is actually pretty simple to enter. There are two different ways, one I find much easier/quicker than the other.
Entry way 1:
The easiest and fastest way is to download the Fidelity Spire App for 1 entry. You then have to click accept the Offical Rules in the app.
Entry way 2:
HAND PRINT your name, complete mailing address, email address, telephone number, and date of birth on a plain 3×5 piece of paper. Then mail it in a hand-addressed stamped envelope to: The Fidelity Spire Student Loan Giveaway, P.O. Box 7766, Melville, NY 11775-7766 (“Mail-in Entry”). (they were extremely specific on hand written and said any computer-generated entries would be discarded). Entries must be postmarked by below entry dates.
You can earn up to 11 entries, regardless of how you enter. They mentioned entries ‘rolling over’ but I am unclear on if you get 11 in the first month, you will continue to roll these 11 entries over to November & December.
How to get additional entries:
Refer your friends! Use your link to refer friends who must then download the app and sign into the app! If you have no friends, I’d be more than happy to be your friend and would gladly appreciate you using my referral link to sign up. (I have a lot of student loans, remember?)
The Rules
A few quick rules that I’ve slimmed down from all of the terms & conditions.
- Giveaway runs from September 8th, 2020 to December 8th, 2020. (I’m aware I’m a little late on this, but I just found out about it so better late than never.)
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC, 18 years of age or older, who has outstanding student loan debts from costs for college or trade school tuition, room and board, and/or books as of September 7th, 2020.
- Money will be paid out DIRECTLY to the financial institution(s) or government agency(ies) that service the winner’s loan(s). If monthly prize winners debt is less than $30,000 the difference will be paid direct to the Monthly Prize Winner as a check. Monthly prize will also include a check to the winner for $9,000 that can be used toward the payment of income taxes associated with the prize. ARV: $39,000 per winner.
- Prizes are non-transferrable (Sad. Sorry not sorry I can’t transfer to you if I win).
- Winners will receive an IRS 1099 Tax Form in the mail for the value of the prize to be processed in the year he/she receives the prize.
- Limit one (1) prize per person.
- Potential winners will be notified by email and MUST respond within ten (10) calendar days, or he/she forfeits the prize and an alternative winner will be drawn. Potential winners must comply with all terms and conditions of the official rules.
- You can get a list of the winners by sending an email to [email protected] with Fidelity Spire Student Loan Giveaway (2737-01) as the subject line. It will be available for ninety (90) days after December 31, 2020. Winners’ List will be sent after all prizes have been awarded.
