Marriott Properties are coming out with all the stops these last few weeks. We recently covered the Top Hotel Credit Card Offers which included Marriott’s new credit card offer for 5 free hotel nights as their new welcome offer. Now, Marriott just announced a limited time “Week of Wonders” deal where you can redeem your Marriott Bonvoy Points for up to 33% off. This deal is valid for October 8th, 2020 through October 15th, 2020. Lets get to the details.
Stay for 33% fewer points
Marriott’s “Wonder of Discovery” week is enabling travelers near and far to stay through November 30th for off-peak pricing. You read that right- through Thanksgiving, you can get off-peak pricing when hotels normally gouge redemption rates for ‘peak pricing’. Hotel occupancy rates are at an all-time low right now, so offering these off-peak prices seems like a no brainer. I wish the promotion was going for longer than November 30th, but might as well take advantage if you can.

Wonders of Discovery
In Marriott’s Press Release for the week of wonders, Marriott states over 7,000 hotels worldwide are participating in this promotion. Included in off-peak pricing will be some top-rated hotels such as:
- The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba and The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
- Saint Hotel Key West, Autograph Collection and Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection
- Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort, Koh Samui and Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa, Dubai
- St. Regis Bali Resort and St. Regis Deer Valley
- W Aspen
Taking a peek at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui, you can actually book for 45,000 points per night in November. This hotel typically runs at 70,000 Bonvoy Points per night on peak times. This hotel could be a great use of those free night certificates.
Free Night Award Certificates
If you have any last-minute Marriott Free Night Award Certificates, you most likely can utilize them for a higher hotel category. For example, let’s say you have one that is capped at 50,000 points normally (like the 5 free night certificates you could get with the new Marriott Bonvoy Hotel Card Offer). If you were traveling at a peak time, the most you could get is a category 4 room. However, if you are traveling off-peak, you could upgrade yourself to a category 7 room!
Marriott Wonders of Rejuvenation
Another week of wonders is the Wonder of Rejuvenation. This will feature hotels and resorts throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Included are Marriott Bonvoy Escape (October 8-11) and Escape to Luxury with Marriott Bonvoy (October 14-15). Members will be able to enjoy 25% savings on stays, while non-members can save 20%. This will be Marriott Bonvoy Escape’s biggest five-day sale with participating properties in Fort Lauderdale, Wyoming, Montreal, Vancouver, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands. Wonders of Delight
Looking for a stay at home feel? Then look no further than the Homes and Villas by Marriott International. The Week of Delight will give you a Free Night Award for a future stay at a Marriott Hotel. Members can also earn 8x points per dollar spent when dining, taking out, or having food delivered upon joining Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy.
The Free Night Award does have some restrictions. First, you have to book a minimum of a three-night stay. Secondly, the free night will be valid at hotels requiring up to 35,000 points per night. This would put you in a category 5 at the standard redemption rate.

This promotion isn’t bad if you have some immediate travel coming up and want to get a discount. You can also upgrade your Free Night Award Hotel category to stay with this promotion.
