Hey Basic Travelers –
If you’ve been waiting for your opportunity to take advantage of one of the best Travel Strategies out there, the time has finally come where can you can be the proud owner of the Southwest Companion Pass with Chase’s Brand New Offer!
The Basic Breakdown
Spend $4,000 in the first 3 Months of Opening the Card and You’ll Receive:
30,000 Bonus Southwest PointsThe Southwest Companion Pass until December 31st, 2019- This offer has expired
The Southwest Companion Pass lets you book a free ticket for a companion whenever you travel on Southwest, as long as there is a seat on the flight. All you will have to pay is taxes and fees (which are $5.60 each way for a domestic flight!)
Some Basic rules to mention:
- You must be under 5/24 Status to get these offers.
- You cannot have recieved a bonus on any of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card in the past 24 months
- Offer is available until February 11th, 2019
- You cannot have recieved a bonus on any of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card in the past 24 months
This offer is pretty amazing if you’ve been looking at an easier way to earn the Southwest Companion Pass. Typically, Basic Travelers open up two Southwest Credit Cards and combine the Bonuses to accumulate the 110,000 Southwest Points necessary to earn the Southwest Companion Pass. Given that this new offer only requires one credit card bonus, many people are considering it that may have been apprehensive about the original offer. The only downsides of this New Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card Offer are that the Southwest Companion Pass is limited to one year versus two and you are only walking away with 30,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards Points versus 110,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards Points.
Our recommendation is to review both offers and consider which one makes the most sense for you! If you are just looking to just dip a toe in the water to see how the Southwest Companion Pass works, as well as how Basic Travel Strategies works, then this offer is the GO TO. However, if you are looking for a more long term strategy to have this pass for almost a TWO full years, then you want to read the Original Strategy, below. Also note, that if you get this offer, you will have to wait 24 months to apply again to any of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Personal cards, as you are only eligible for this bonus once every 24 months. (You COULD however alternate getting this with you and your companion.)

Oh wow! Definitely need to pick up the Companion Pass then! Such a great offer!
Good information. I remember signing up for this when it first came out and my friend and I would travel every where that year for dirt cheap.
