Basic Travel trip to Hilton Luxor

Hours after Lisa said yes, and being guided through Cairo with our amazing guide, Taha, we were gearing up for the second leg of our dream vacation in Luxor, Egypt.

Le Meridian Pyramids- hours after getting engaged!

We hopped onto our Egypt Air flight, and had some great business class seats! Even though it was only a one hour flight, it was amazing to have that business class seating with more legroom, better meals, hot towels, tons of drinks and even sleep mask kits!

The Hilton in Luxor had caught my eye quite some time ago. Its reputation stands strong, as this particular hotel has been featured on the Hilton website on a regular basis.

I reached out ahead of time to arrange a birthday surprise for Lisa and a sunrise hot air balloon tour. From the start, the Hilton Luxor staff was very responsive and delightful to communicate with. Given that sometimes it can be difficult to even hear back, their receptiveness certainly added to the excitement ahead.

Our flight touched down at 11:45 pm, a few minutes later we were greeted by Mohammed who escorted us to the Hilton shuttle. During the ride, we talked about our time in Cairo and he pointed out different aspects of the Luxor. At the welcome desk, we were greeted by Hani who wished Lisa a Happy Birthday and surprised us with the news that we would be receiving a complimentary upgrade to the Nile River Suite! I caught a glimpse of Lisa’s reaction which validated my faith in the Hilton experience.

It only got better from there, Mohammed escorted us to our room which was decorated festively with balloons and a Happy Birthday cake! Stepping out onto our private balcony, hand-in-hand looking out onto the beautiful Nile River was a moment that I will truly not forget. The Hilton Luxor staff nailed it!

From there we had an incredible time seeing the city from a hot air balloon which ended with a surprise happy birthday celebration that included a special song and dance. The breakfast buffet was delicious back at the Hilton and the siesta on the Nile River that followed was even better!

That evening, Ishmael prepared some cold cocktails that really hit the spot after a long day of touring beautiful Luxor. Ishmael was so friendly and attentive, he told us about his life philosophy, “why not”. When you are deciding on whether to experience something, choose to do so…because why not!

Leaving Luxor was bittersweet, we are both excited to experience another beautiful location in Egypt but said to say goodbye the awesome Hilton Luxor Staff. Thank you to Hani, Mohammed, Ishmael and the rest of the staff who had helped to make for an unforgettable experience in Luxor!
